Karen Dubrow holds two doctorates. She has a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. Karen Dubrow was the first to receive the Doctorate of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in 1999 from the Ola Grimsby Institute. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Washington University, St. Louis. She then began her clinical work at the same time pursuing and achieving a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the Graduate School of Texas Woman’s University, School of Physical Therapy.
Dr. Dubrow continued with postgraduate work in Manual Therapy, receiving her Equivalency of a Nordic Manual Therapy Certification by the Nordic Group of Specialists in Manual Therapy. She continued her studies with the Ola Grimsby Institute, completing her Part II Manual Therapy Certification, her Master of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, culminating in the Doctorate of Manual Therapy, and then the Ph.D. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy.(AAOMPT)
She has owned her practice in Plano, Texas since 1990. She treats patients full-time in Plano, Texas. Dr. Dubrow is Research Chair For PhD for the Ola Grimsby Institute, and is a Fellowship Mentor for AAOMPT on a part-time basis.
Karen has lived in Plano 24+ years. She is a native Dallasite and has lived in the metroplex her entire life except for college. She actively participates in local civics and served on and became the Chair of the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee of Plano. Additionally, Karen periodically serves in various positions for AAOMPT.
Karen was a college soccer player. She is an avid SCUBA diver, enjoys water and snow skiing, playing at golf, High Intensity Interval Training, cycling, and martial arts. She is a black belt in both American Kenpo Karate and Tae Kwon Do. She has studied the martial arts for 25+ years.
Dog lovers since childhood, Karen and her husband have Twinkle Toes who was adopted from the Plano Animal Shelter. Twinkle is in training to be a physical therapy assisting dog.
